I have been working as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2005, and have worked in a variety of settings including private practice in the UK and France, an NHS Adult Community Mental Health Team, Schools, Place2Be, and a Sure Start Children’s Centre. Working in these different mental health settings has given me experience of working with a wide range of diagnoses and issues. These include:
- loss and grief
- personality disorders
- family conflict
- life changes and transitions
- low self-esteem
- emotional, physical and sexual abuse
- suicidal feelings and self-harm
- relationship difficulties, separation and divorce.
I am a professionally, qualified and experienced Psychotherapist, registered with the Humanistic and Integrative College of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) with the Certificate in Transactional Analysis (CTA), and a member of the United Kingdom of Association for Transactional Analysis. The CTA is a worldwide qualification conferred by the European Association of Transactional Analysis.
I also have a MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy awarded by Middlesex University, a Clinical Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy awarded by the Metanoia Insitute, a Certificate in Further Counselling Skills awarded by the LINK Centre, and a Core Process Psychotherapy Diploma in Mindfulness in Relationship awarded by the Karuna Institute.
I abide by the UKCP’s Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct and engage in regular continuing professional development. I also receive regular professional supervision as a requirement of the UKCP Ethical Principals. This helps ensure that I work in a manner which is safe and of most benefit to my clients.
